Verifying Listings by Phone

On top of any scheduled calls, time to time you may receive a phone call from one of our team members here at Ethical asking you to verify a local listing by phone. There may be days where we never call or days where we call multiple times a day. The reason we do this is similar to verifying your Google Places listing.

Why Do We Need to Verify?

With most citations, or “local listings”, we need to verify the listing to be able to control and edit the listing. Without this, anyone may be able to edit your information or there may be bad information we cannot change. For our local optimization efforts, it is crucial that we verify and control as many local listings as possible.

What Do I Need to Do?

When we call, we will explain who we are, what we are doing, and what we need. We will ask if you’re available to take an automated call and are able to write down a pin. When ready, we will ask the listing’s company (eg. Yelp) to call you. After you receive the PIN, all you need to do is give us a call back with the PIN and that’s it! We may need to do this multiple times a day depending on which part of your project we are focusing on.
